Sovereign

Sovereigns were the masters of the Old World, the administrators of the laws, those who held authority and power over the mortal realm. After the Sundering and the shattering of the Nexus, the Sovereigns lost their control over the Aspects in an instant. Some of them became Novarchs, others vanished, and others still sorrowfully wander the realms.

The Sovereigns were the owners of the Aspects of the Old World. They were rulers of the mortal world, wielding power and authority. After the Sundering, some became the Novarchs of the new world.

According to Breadhead, only a few Sovereigns were able to seize an Aspect in the instant after the Sundering struck the world, while many more lost their authority over Aspects altogether.
