The Old World was the previous state of the world of Honkai: Nexus Anima that existed before the Sundering.
History
Prior to the Sundering, the Aspects of the Old World were paired together and ruled over by Sovereigns.[1] It was a time when nothing existed in true isolation, with everything connected together by Nexus threads.[2]
As a result of the Sundering, the Aspects of the Old World were split apart into pieces, the fragments forming the New World of 81 independent universes, called Planes. Many Sovereigns of the Old World also became rulers of the independent Aspects, now called Novarchs.[1]
Certain features of the Old World, such as architecture, still remain within the New World; an example being Romanesque Hall in Iia, which used to house royalty.[3]
