It knows the cruelty of the world: if it cannot change others, then it must harden itself. Its bone blades are always scarred, but it doesn't despair. It knows that regrown bone becomes stronger, and it looks forward to the day when its blades are harder still. But deep down... Cublade longs for love. It remembers fondly every afternoon it charged toward its master with bread in its jaws, remembering the gentle, sunlit corner of a distant, quiet past.
